Australia first competed in the Winter Olympic Games in 1936 and has been at every games except one since then and yet it was not until the 2002 Games in Salt Lake City that we won our first ever Gold Medals - Steven Bradbury in the 1000m short track speed skating and Alisa Camplin in the aerials, followed by Dale Begg-Smith's Gold in the freestyle skiing at the 2006 Games in Turin.  Torah Bright’s Gold Medal in the women’s half pipe in Vancouver was complete after flawlessly executing one of the more difficult moves ever attempted by a female snowboarder. Australia claimed a second gold medal at the Vancouver 2010 Olympic Winter Games, with Lydia Lassila winning the women's freestyle aerials final at Cypress Mountain. Lassila's win makes the Vancouver 2010 Games Australia's most successful Winter Olympics ever. Australia is the only country in the Southern Hemisphere to have ever won a Winter Olympic Gold Medal.

To commemorate these Gold Medal performances, the AOC has released this limited edition lithograph handsigned by our Gold Medal Winners. Further to this, should Australia win any further Gold Medals at the 2010 Vancouver Games, then their signature will be added to the piece.
